Every tree here was planted with the intention that it would outlive the person who planted it.
RAL Plantations cultivates Aquilaria — the tree that gives the world Agarwood — across twenty acres in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.
We began in 2009 with a nursery and a question: whether the tree that the wild forest had been stripped of could be grown deliberately, at quality, on a working estate. Sixteen years of planting, record-keeping and slow correction later, the answer is the plantation itself.
Nature gives us the material. Science helps us understand it.
Agarwood formation is still only partly understood. We treat that as a reason to record more, not to guess.

What we are building
A plantation is a slow argument. Nothing you do in a given year settles it; the trees answer a decade later, or they do not.
So the estate is run to be legible. Every plot is mapped, every age class recorded, every inoculation dated. When a stand responds well we can say what was different about it, and when one does not we can say that too. That record is the only thing that turns twenty acres of Aquilaria into knowledge rather than luck.
The commercial side follows from it. Because origin is documented, a buyer knows what they are holding: which species, which plot, which year, distilled or graded under whose hand. That is what cultivated Agarwood can offer that wild material, by its nature, never could.
