Five stages, none of which can be shortened.

Select
Resinous heartwood picked out by hand, plot by plot.

Reduce
Wood milled down so the resin can be reached.

Soak
Weeks in water, softening the fibre before any heat.

Distil
Low-temperature hydro-distillation over several days.
05
Rest
Settled and aged before the batch is recorded and closed.
